Brothers Grimm - To be honest ... I expected to walk into this film and absolutely hate it. I saw the abundance of CGI in the films trailer and was almost moved to sickness considering it is a Terry Gilliam film. But within the first 15 minutes of the film (including credits) ... I was reminded that it's Terry "Fucking" Gilliam. The man knows how to make an absolutely amazing visual feast. We haven't heard much from Terry Gilliam since Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas was released in 1998. After the unfortunate disaster of attempting to create The Man Who Killed Don Quixote with Johnny Depp (The film was scrapped after a week of shooting) ... Gilliam was a hermit. But alas ... when searching on IMDB one day ... Grimm fell out of the sky. The movie is fun ... something that runs the same kind of fun as Pirates Of The Carribbean - but a little more creepy. Matt Damon and Heath Ledger are fantastic. The characters are well thought out and well worked - the film is a fairy tale about a couple of boys faking fairy tales for money (saving small towns from witches and trolls) while one writes fairy tales. But then a fairy tale turns out to be a little more than true. The effects are hokey - but as they are supposed to because - it's Terry Gilliam. And the random number of references of different fairy tales is absolutely awesome. By far and away it isn't Gilliams best work ... but ... it's worth a view.

Been a long day. I still need to shower.

Here's to another lonely night.
